Spousal Support and Alimony
Spousal support and alimony are two terms that mean the same thing. The terms refer to the proposition of the higher earning spouse paying an amount of support to the lower earning spouse based upon certain factors contained in the Ohio Revised Code. Sounds simple, but it isn’t. No two courts treat spousal support the same. The amount and duration of spousal support is different county to county and is often very different from judge to judge. You need an attorney who is well versed in the nuances of spousal support and one who is able to use the law to your favor.
